Join our Distribution Team and be part of the team that keeps everything moving.<br><br>Position Summary:<br><br>The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of grocery products from the Distribution Center in Jessup, MD to assigned store locations across the region. This role operates 48-53-foot tractor-trailers, verifies loads, completes required documentation, and ensures compliance with all safety, DOT, and company standards. Drivers are home daily and must be flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7 essential operation.<br><br>What You Will Do:<br><br>Grow Our People<br><br>&bull; We care deeply about people, enjoy diversity and develop talent to get the best out of all of us<br><br>Obsess Over Customers<br><br>&bull; We delight our customers with innovative products and experiences that support a healthier future for people and planet<br><br>Win Together<br><br>&bull; We collaborate across boundaries to deliver on our strategy and purpose<br><br>Operational Excellence<br><br>&bull; Safely operate a 48-53-foot tractor-trailer to transport grocery product from the Distribution Center to store locations across DC, VA, DE, MD, and PA<br><br>&bull; Pick up assigned loads from the warehouse, verify load accuracy, and ensure timely delivery to designated store locations<br><br>&bull; Drop pallets of product at store locations (no touch freight)<br><br>&bull; Comply with all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and hours-of-service requirements<br><br>&bull; Drive safely in all conditions, including heavy traffic, adverse weather, and varying road environments<br><br>&bull; Accurately complete all required paperwork, logs, delivery documentation, and electronic records<br><br>&bull; Utilize in-cab safety and tracking technology (Samsara) in accordance with company standards<br><br>&bull; Follow assigned routes, schedules, rest periods, and delivery windows<br><br>&bull; Read maps, follow GPS and written directions, and adjust routes as needed<br><br>&bull; Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any safety or maintenance issues<br><br>&bull; Maintain a professional, reliable, and customer-focused demeanor at all delivery locations<br><br>&bull; Work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as required by business operations<br><br>What You Will Bring:<br><br>&bull; Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)<br><br>&bull; Minimum of 12-18 months of verifiable on-the-road driving experience with a Class A license (school experience does not qualify)<br><br>&bull; Ability to safely operate 48-53-foot tractor-trailers<br><br>&bull; Clean driving record in accordance with company and DOT standards<br><br>&bull; Knowledge of and compliance with DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safety requirements<br><br>&bull; Ability to accurately complete paper and electronic logs, delivery documentation, and inspection reports<br><br>&bull; Experience driving in heavy traffic, urban areas, highways, and inclement weather conditions<br><br>&bull; Ability to follow assigned routes, delivery schedules, and written or GPS directions<br><br>&bull; Strong attention to detail to verify load accuracy and delivery information<br><br>&bull; Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision<br><br>&bull; Willingness and availability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a 24/7 operation<br><br>&bull; Ability to meet all pre-employment and ongoing requirements, including DOT physical, drug and alcohol screening, and background checks<br><br>&bull; Ability to use in-cab technology and safety systems (e.g., Samsara)<br><br>Skills and Abilities:<br><br>Functional Competencies - Foundational Level<br><br>&bull; Customer Service - Initiate actions that improve the customer experience by applying basic understanding of customer behavior<br><br>&bull; Distribution Center Systems, Equipment & Technology - Fulfils the requirement of the role by demonstrating understanding of Systems, Technology & Equipment<br><br>&bull; eCommerce & Omnichannel Expertise - Applies a basic understanding of eCommerce in devising & executing retail plans<br><br>&bull; Financial & Business Acumen - Uses knowledge of the business & financial priorities & drivers to produce expected results<br><br>&bull; Food Safety & Sanitation - Follows standard food safety and sanitation standards<br><br>&bull; Inventory Control and Quality Assurance - Communicates the impact of quality standards throughout each cross functional department<br><br>&bull; Labor Relations - Applies knowledge of Union/Non-Union requirements to maintain a good working relationship<br><br>&bull; Operations Analysis - Communicates understanding of all process flows and the operational KPIs and goals within functional area of responsibility<br><br>&bull; People Safety - Demonstrates a positive attitude towards safety and security<br><br>&bull; Operational Coordination - Applies strategies as needed to meet daily plans<br><br>&bull; Regulatory Awareness & Compliance - Applies knowledge of a broad range of state, federal and local laws and regulations<br><br>-Starting pay is $25/hr. and must be open to work any shift and any day, including weekends.<br><br>The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
