Position Summary:
The Casual Worker/Vacation Relief position will be performing general warehouse duties, either part-time or on an on-call basis for our Jessup distribution center.

Operational Excellence
• Select, pull, and build accurate customer orders within a fast-paced distribution center environment
• Safely operate an electric pallet jack to transport and stage product
• Build stable pallets according to company safety and quality standards
• Perform heavy lifting while selecting and stacking product throughout the shift
• Maintain accuracy while pulling orders to meet productivity and shipment deadlines
• Work collaboratively with other selectors and warehouse team members to ensure on-time order fulfillment
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures, including proper equipment use and lifting techniques
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift
• Meet attendance and scheduling requirements, including working every weekend with two weekday days off
• Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned to support distribution operations
-Starting pay is $20/hr. and goes up to $28/hr. based on performance. Must be able to work weekends and shift time is a 12noon start

• Distribution Center Systems, Equipment & Technology - Fulfils the requirement of the role by demonstrating understanding of Systems, Technology & Equipment
• Food Safety & Sanitation - Follows standard food safety and sanitation standards
• Inventory Control and Quality Assurance - Communicates the impact of quality standards throughout each cross functional department
• Labor Relations - Applies knowledge of Union/Non-Union requirements to maintain a good working relationship
• People Safety - Demonstrates a positive attitude towards safety and security
• Operational Coordination - Applies strategies as needed to meet daily plans
• Regulatory Awareness & Compliance - Applies knowledge of a broad range of state, federal and local laws and regulations
The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the role, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable law.
This position will be on-site at the Giant Food Distribution Center in Jessup, MD.
