You’ll learn something about your role, department and team every day. That’s what “on the job training” is all about. Have questions? Just ask! We love your curiosity and want you to have the information you need.

Learning about our stores
Our stores are the most important part of our organization. Without them, we’re nothing! That’s why we encourage everyone whose role doesn’t include store contact (corporate roles, generally) to spend “ a day in the life” of a store associate. That way they have a better understanding of the effects their decisions could have on the floor, and they get an understanding of the amazing work our store associates do every day!

Want to develop your leadership skills?
We offer Giant Leadership Courses to associates at various levels across our departments. They focus on values and practices like: communication, trust, influence and performance management. For associates who want to further develop their leadership skills we offer the following.

FranklinCovey 7 Habits of Highly Effective Leaders©:
A leadership course that takes participants from dependent to independent, using seven key habits to develop performers and leaders.

Dale Carnegie Leadership Training©:
Designed to form effective, persuasive leaders who inspire success in their organizations. It’s change that begins with you – and spreads.

Develop U:
Our educational microsite with podcasts, articles and online courses to sharpen and reinforce your skills.

Continuing Education
We partner with both Strayer University and Capella University to help our full-time associates earn a college degree tuition-free up to $5,250 a year!  Part-time associates have a great opportunity too! They can earn a degree through a reduced cost program that allows them to pursue an undergrad or graduate-level degree online, in a way that’s uniquely designed for people with work obligations and busy schedules.
